SightLogix has introduced the SightSensor NS12 and SightSensor TC12 — a new family of 1280×1024 megapixel thermal detection cameras designed for large outdoor perimeters where coverage area, deployment economics, and detection performance are equally critical. Both cameras are available to order now.
The NS12 and TC12 are among the first fixed thermal cameras on the market with a 1280×1024 imager. That higher resolution translates directly into coverage: each camera protects approximately 2.5 times the area of a traditional 640×480 system. On large sites — utility substations, data centers, airports, ports, and wide-area campuses — fewer cameras means fewer poles, fewer cable runs, and lower total infrastructure cost.
Both cameras deliver AI classification across the full inbound detection range, giving security teams trusted alerts throughout the entire protected area.
“Critical infrastructure perimeters don’t fit in a small box. Our customers protect utility substations, data centers, airports, and large open sites where coverage gaps aren’t acceptable and infrastructure costs are real. The NS12 and TC12 were built for exactly that challenge — protecting more perimeter with fewer devices, with the AI classification performance and trusted alerts that operators can rely on. This is what more than 20 years of engineering for this application delivers.”

The SightSensor NS12: Wide-Area Megapixel Thermal AI Detection
The SightSensor NS12 is a high-resolution thermal detection camera combining a 1280×1024 megapixel thermal imager, purpose-trained thermal AI classification, and geospatial intelligence. It is designed for applications where protecting more perimeter with fewer installed devices is the primary objective — wide buffer zones, utility substations, data centers, airports, logistics yards, rail facilities, and industrial campuses.
The 1280×1024 thermal sensor also delivers exceptional thermal scene detail across the full detection range. The added resolution also gives operators a clearer image of what triggered the alert.

The NS12 is available in two lens configurations optimized for wide-area protection:
- NS1234-030: 310m (1,017 ft) inbound detection, 190m (623 ft) detection width at far end, 34° field of view, 25mm lens.
- NS1262-030: 200m (656 ft) inbound detection, 240m (787 ft) detection width at far end, 62° field of view, 14mm lens.
The SightSensor TC12: Megapixel Thermal + 4K Visible AI in a Single Device
The SightSensor TC12 combines the same 1280×1024 thermal imager with an integrated 4K visible imager and Dual AI Detection — all on a single device, at a single IP address. Thermal AI and visible AI operate simultaneously, continuously cross-validating detections in real time before an alert is sent. The result is wide-area coverage with trusted alerts and visual confirmation, without the cost or complexity of a separate visible camera installation.
Where a conventional deployment might require a separate thermal camera, a separate visible camera, two cable runs, two IP addresses, and two VMS channels, the TC12 replaces that configuration with a single unit.
The TC12 is available in a single lens configuration optimized for wide-area protection:
- TC1262-330, 200m (656 ft) inbound detection, 240m (787 ft) detection width at far end, 62° thermal field of view, 14mm thermal lens, 88° 4K visible field of view.
Made Possible by Gen7
Running real-time AI analytics on a megapixel thermal sensor demands a purpose-built processing architecture. The SightSensor NS12 and TC12 are powered by SightLogix’s Gen7 edge processing platform, which delivers 20× the AI throughput of prior generations through a dedicated AI core — providing the processing headroom that megapixel thermal AI detection requires.
On the TC12, Gen7 simultaneously processes the full-resolution 1280×1024 thermal stream and 4K visible stream — running independent AI models on both, cross-validating detections in real time, entirely on-device, with no cloud dependency.
What This Delivers for Security Teams, Integrators, and A&Es
The NS12 and TC12 are designed to deliver measurable outcomes across large-perimeter deployments:
- Greatly reduced false alarms. Purpose-trained thermal AI and geospatial intelligence filter environmental motion across the full range of detection before an alert is sent. On the TC12, an independent visible AI provides a second layer of real-time cross-validation.
- Coordinated detection and verification with SightTracker PTZ. When either camera detects a target, it automatically directs the SightTracker PTZ to the target’s GPS coordinates — delivering a zoomed, AI-tracked close-up in real time, without operator intervention. The PTZ stays locked on the intruder as it moves across the site, even after it leaves the detecting camera’s field of view.
- Lower total cost of operation on large sites. A camera that eliminates even one pole installation on a large site can more than offset the cost of the higher-resolution sensor.
- Built to work in a layered perimeter. On large sites — including those that also use radar or fence-line detection — the NS12 and TC12 add continuous, classifying thermal coverage with verified alerts. Because the sensor is a thermal camera, operators get an image to act on the moment a target is detected — complementing other perimeter technologies rather than replacing them.
